We just wanted to share with all of you the story of how we got our new little miracle. Well, on our way home from our trip to San Francisco, we got a phone call from one of our case workers who told us about a very good situation where we could have our profile presented to a birth-mom who was expecting a baby near the end of September. Everything that they told us about her, the baby, and the situation got us very excited and when we were asked if we wanted to have our profile presented, we eagerly said "yes!" Before we knew it, only two days had passed when we got another call and were told that the birth-mom had chosen us and we were matched. We had been told that she was planning to come out to Utah to have her baby so all we had to do was to get things ready for the baby and to pray that everything would go smoothly. Well before we even had time to digest this news, six days passed and we got another call (this time at 5 o'clock in the morning) and we were told that the birth-mom had gone into labor 3 weeks early and that she wanted us to get to her as soon as we possibly could. In a matter of a few short hours and with the help of some amazing angels (you know who you are), we were able to get on a plane and fly back east to be with the birth-mom. When we landed, we learned that her labor had gone very smoothly and that she had delivered a healthy baby boy weighing in at 6lbs. 8oz. and 19.5 inches. We were able to spend the evening with both birth-mom and baby and the majority of the following day. We really enjoyed this opportunity to get to know her better and learn about this very amazing woman. We had wanted her to help us choose a middle name for Henry and she suggested either the name Jacob or Frank. We wanted to have the name be in Italian so we told her what the translation of those names would be and she liked the name Franco. So that is how we got Henry Franco Gessati. By the time the baby was about 24 hours old, she signed some documents and he was released into our custody as his adoptive parents. It was a very difficult day; so full of different emotions and feelings. Overall, it was a very powerful experience and we will never know how to thank this woman for the amazing gift she gave to us that day. We were honestly very surprised as to how quickly we got Henry. Just 24 hours! We didn't have anything! We stayed at the home of some very kind members of the Church who were very generous with us and helped us get by with a few of their things. We were also very grateful for Walmart! After about a week, we got clearance to come back to Utah and here we are now getting adjusted to our new little family. We feel extremely blessed by Heavenly Father and we absolutely know that if this hadn't been right or hadn't been the way things were supposed to go, they wouldn't have gone so smoothly and so perfectly. We have been humbled by this experience and are so thrilled to be sharing it with you! Please keep us in mind over the next few months as we hope to complete the adoption process early on next year. We appreciate all of your love and support!
